YES Win FlyingStart Competition

The YES have been announced as the winner of a video competition hosted by FlysingStart, a branch of the NCGE. The competition was aimed at getting particpents to create a short video about "making saving fun". The small core team of the committee put together a video based around Santa finding ways to save a little everyday which would allow him to enjoy larger things later in life. The video can be seen below;

YES looking for new committee members

Want to be a member of the YES committee, help develop our events, be a key marketing player or help out where needed? The opportunity is now here, the YES are looking for three new committee members, 1x Marketing and 2x General Members. To apply follow the link below and fill out the application form, the current committee will then look over the applications and those who are deemed suitable will be asked for an interview after which the committee will choose who they think is best suited for the job! New Partnership Programme Announced and FREE Microsoft software!

The York Entrepreneurs Society is proud to announce Microsoft as a primary sponsor for the current academic year. Microsoft will be working closely with the the YES to provide a wide range of opportunities and events. Microsoft already provides access to a range of free software through their 'DreamSpark' programme which is accessible by over 35million students, including those at York!

YES Committee Members meet with Civic Party for York

Committee members of the YES meet with the Lord Mayor of York and Civic Party at Mansion House on the 19th of November. The YES were invited to give a presentation on the society and about the future projects.

Winners of The Pitch 2009!

The winners of The Pitch 2009 were announced last night in a special award ceremony held in the enterprise zone. The announcement was made by Tony Robards (Science City York) who was one of the judges during the final part of the competition. The winning team was ‘Enhance’, who developed an innovative idea of placing a fresh fruit and veg stall coupled with a café on the new Heslington Campus. Created as a one stop shop for fresh fruit and veg and aptly named ‘The Hut’. Team Enhance were praised for their market research which secured them the victory over the other teams.
