The York Entrepreneurs Society has been decorated with two awards, these include the 'Best Enterprise Society' award at the IEEC 2009 and also the Flyingstart Global Innovation Competition on 'Making Saving Fun'. More information on these two can be found below:
IEEC 2009
The Society was awarded with the Best Enterprise Society Award at the International Entrepreneurship Educators Conference 2009 (IEEC). The society beat 30 other Universities including, Oxford, Cambridge and Kings College, the society won the award on the basis of making 'real step changes within the local community and the university'. read more...
Endorsement from Business Innovations and Skills Department
On the event of The York Apprentice the Society received a letter from MP David Willetts, the Minister for State for Universities and Science. In the letter David Willetts praised The York Entrepreneurs Society for 'demonstrating the strength of entrepreneurial spirit in universities'. He further outlined the 'value' of developing such skills as university as they 'will stay with students throughout their careers'.

Global Innovation Competition 2009
The society won a video competition hosted by FlysingStart, a branch of the NCGE. The competition was aimed at getting participants to create a short video about "making saving fun". A small core team of the committee put together a video based around Santa finding ways to save a little everyday which would allow him to enjoy larger things later in life. The video can be seen above.
